Do not raise before the flop in Omaha poker and remember that anyone’s aim in Omaha is to scoop the pot; to reach this target one should play only premium hands.  Every move should be intelligently played in Omaha because it is a much complex devil and is not a pre-flop game like holdem.

Anyone that is not able to fold on the flop very often is likely to be playing more hands that they should actually be playing.  Table selection is an important part in Omaha poker.  Every bet should be done with reference to the hand versus table image. Only play in loose games where five or more players see the flop on average. Being skilled at calculating pot odds is quite a necessity in Omaha poker and anyone that does not know this lesson has no room in Omaha, even if they keep playing they are going to loose.

Learning to identify the good starting hand is a basic need in Omaha poker. Trap hands should never be played or they should not be played beyond flop if the board turns bizarre.  There is going to be no real improvement in the turn and river, if there is going to be no improvement in the flop.  Stop having wrong hopes and fold traps if they do not improve substantially in the flop.

Do not commit a lot of money until the hand is worth the play. even if the hand is worth the showdown it is better to slow play to have the pot grow rather than going wild with excitement and making big bets and scaring everyone to fold. When having met up with a pot committed hand, all excitement and anxiety should be controlled and the next focus should be to boost the pot as much as possible.
